Class reminders: Children need their PE kits and reading books in school EVERY DAY!!

  • Books can be changed daily if they are put in the book box to change.
  • Spelling tests are on a Monday and new spellings are sent home on a Wednesday.
  • Our usual PE days are Wednesday and Thursday, but these can change, so kits are needed everyday. (We will then send them home every Friday.)

Spring Term - Around the World

From the Ant to the Zebra

This half term we have been learning about different continents around the world. So far we have learnt about, Africa, Australasia, Asia and Antarctica.

We have looked at a country within each continent, learning about its weather, landmarks and habitats for the animals who live there.

Here are some of our pic-collages that we created after learning about animals that are native to Australia.

We have been looking at the changes that happen during Autumn. We collected lots of Autumn things during our walk back from the church. Then we produced some brilliant drawings and leaf rubbings in the classroom.

We turned our leaf pictures into Polystyrene tiles, which we then used to print our own repeating pictures in the style of Andy Warhol.

We hope you enjoy looking at our pictures here and the finished product is now on display in the classroom too!

During this half term we have learnt about the Christian celebration of Harvest and the Jewish celebration Sukkot. Where both religions thank God for a successful harvest of the crops.

We enjoyed our Harvest festival at the church and were very pleased to see lots of you there to enjoy our  celebrations.

(Thank you for your kind donations.)

In the classroom we made Challah bread. A bread often shared during Sukkot.

If you would like to try this recipe at home, we used a great recipe from CBeebies My World Kitchen, where the children cooked alongside Lewis in the classroom.

Happy Baking!!
