Miss Parker’s Class

Teaching Year 1/2 2014/15

Welcome to our class page!

Welcome back to the beginning of the Summer term

Our topic this term is 'Seasides'.  We will keep you informed of how you can support the learning of your child in topic work, as well as Numeracy and Literacy homework activities.

Have a look at the photo gallery below. These are just some of the activities we enjoyed taking part in whilst we were learning about Castles. We also had great fun finding out about how things move during Science Week. Thank you to all of the adults who joined us for our open afternoon. We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did.

Spellings -
The children will continue to have weekly spelling tests. The tests will be held on a Monday and books returned on a Tuesday, with the next set of spellings stuck in.

PE -

Takes place on a Tuesday and a Thursday afternoon. Please make sure all earrings are removed or covered with tape. Long hair must be tied up too.

Trim trail -

My class’s turn on the trim trail is on a Thursday. Please make sure children have a pair of trainers or plimsolls to change into so they can play safely.

We loved learning about castles and we had a fantastic trip to Norwich Castle on the last day of term. We learned about life in a castle, made our own pennants and looked at different artifacts.

We had lots of fun during Science Week. We learned how to save energy to protect our environment. We also investigated how different things move.

The children have thoroughly enjoyed playing the games they have created as part of their homework project this half term. There were some very imaginative games.

These Year 2 children represented the school at the cluster Gymnastics competition on the 11th February 2015
